DELTA AIR LINES

The Legend of C.E. Woolman

Event Opener

He would go down in history
not for what he did,
but for who he was

There were plenty of people who thought C.E. Woolman was crazy. He was a dreamer. He believed there was so much more potential to flight. He thought distance should not separate families and aviation could stretch further and farther than anyone imagined.

In this event opener for Delta Air Lines, we follow the early life of their founder, C.E. Woolman -- from his initial moment of inspiration in 1909 at the world’s first aviation meeting in France, through the innovation of his crop dusting business, all the way to the inception of Delta Air Lines.  With The Great Depression as its backdrop, we watch C.E. Woolman innovate through adversity, making great strides in aviation.  We see the victories and the struggles.  We witness the early, developmental moments that made him into the great leader he became.  His reliability is portrayed through his relationships with people, particularly in rescuing farmers battling the boll weevil epidemic. We aim to show his dedication, his charm, his unending desire to never give up.
